The Westphalian Sommerwurst (Summer Sausage) was traditionally solely produced during winter. After maturing for a long period, it could finally be enjoyed in summer.
Reinert Sommerwurst is manufactured according to the original recipe of its inventor Hans Reinert. Inspired by his childhood memories, he created the first Reinert Sommerwurst in 1969. Since then, the original recipe remains unchanged.
